Obituary

Arlyn D. Richardson, 57, of Medford and formerly of Milladore, died on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Martens/Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City, WI, with Rev. Don Meuret officiating. A private burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Milladore at a later date. Visitation will be from 3-5 pm Wed. before the service at the funeral home. Arlyn was born on March 19, 1954, at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point, WI to Eugene and Lorraine (Jadack) Richardson. He graduated from Auburndale High School in 1972. Arlyn worked at the Koehler Co. in Sheboygan and then on the family farm until his parents retired in 1988. He then moved to Westboro, WI and began a logging business. He moved to the Medford area in 2009, where he continued to log and also began a hobby farm. Arlyn was a great lover of the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was a quiet man and genuinely appreciated the simpler things in life. Greatly talented, Arlyn could do just about anything, and made several projects for friends over the years. Fishing was his great love, and he made several trips to Canada with family and friends. His dog, Spook, was a constant and dear companion. Arlyn enjoyed spending time with his young nieces and nephews, and was always up for a competitive board game and a good conversation. He was a great listener to all. All who knew Arlyn admired his determined and hardworking nature. Arlyn was very happy with his new home in Athens, and had many plans to develop the farm there. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. As long as we live, he too will live, for he is a part of us as we remember him. He is survived by his father Eugene of Hayward, four brothers, Jeffrey (Sue) Richardson of Milladore, Randall (Suzie) Richardson of Hayward, Gary Richardson of Palmer, AK, and Bruce (Denise) Richardson of Trapper Creek, AK, three sisters, Ann (Ed) Ellis of Willow, AK, Loralee (Mark) Springer of Spread Eagle, WI, and Michelle (Troy) Dillinger of Stratford. He is further survived by a sister-in-law Kathy Richardson of Marshfield and Karen Richardson of Marshfield. Arlyn was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine, and three brothers, Rodney, Stuart, and Arnold Richardson, maternal grandparents John and Fern (Darr) Jadack, and paternal grandparents John and Marie (Linzmaier) Wolf.
