Obituary

Ardelle A. Eckes, 86, Marshfield, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026 at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of service. Deacon Ray Draeger will officiate. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.

Ardelle was born on July 26, 1940 in Marshfield to Andrew and Gertrude (Jirschele) Treutel. She was a 1958 graduate of Columbus Catholic High School. On May 14, 1960 she was united in marriage to Carl Eckes. He passed away on March 10, 2007.

Ardelle’s favorite job was working as a secretary for Rev. Larry Moody at Wesley United Methodist Church. She also worked as an office administrator at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society, Look Good Feel Better, Partners and the Wig and Scarf room at the hospital, and Hope Lodge.

Ardelle loved family gatherings with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Carla (Kevin) Nowack of Hewitt, Corey Eckes of Marshfield, Paula (Michael) Kroskey of Marshfield and Rhonda Eckes (fiancé Randy Sabel) of Neenah; grandchildren, Tia and Katelyn Nowack, step-grandchildren, Stephanie and Sarah Kroskey, and step great grandsons, Ryan Kroskey and Mason Kroskey.

She is further survived by her sister in law, Noreen Treutel of Sussex.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings and siblings in law, James Treutel, Lloyd (Vi) Treutel, David (Sharon) Treutel, Thelma (Ralph) Pokallus, and Elaine (Robert) Wistrom.

Memorials may be designated to Wildwood Park or the Zoological Society.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dylan Kieffer, Dr. Daly-O’neill, and St. Croix Hospice for their care and compassion.
