Anthony "Tony" J. Weigel, 85, Rozellville, died peacefully at his home in the Town of Day with family at his side on Thursday, September 2, 2021.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rozellville, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 am until service time. Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam will officiate, and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Tony was born on June 7, 1936 in the Town of Day, Marathon County, to Robert J. and Mary (Leick) Weigel. He attended school in Rozellville and Marshfield. He was united in marriage to Ann M. Joch on October 11, 1958 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Rozellville and they were married for almost 63 years. He first farmed in the Town of Emmet and later moved back to the family homestead to farm in the Town of Day. He drove milk truck for 40 years. After his retirement he was the maintenance man for St. Andrew's church, hall and cemetery.
Tony enjoyed playing accordion, traveling and playing cards with friends.
He is survived by his wife Ann and three sons, Michael Weigel of Marshfield, and Robert and Ronald Weigel of Wausau. He is further survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill Joch of Omro, Sylvia (John) Zimmer of Menomonie Falls, Rita (Don) Cepress of Rudolph, Rosie (Bill) Loser of West Bend, George (Nancy) Joch of Stratford and Tom (Tammy) Joch of Ohio.
He was predeceased by his parents and brothers and sisters, Isadore, Susie, Rita, Sylvester, Robert, and Isabelle Weigel and Maryalice Seidel.
