Anne L. Zuelke, 90, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the Aster Assisted Living, Marshfield.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:30 am until service time. Rev. Amy Heinz, Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford, will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Stratford.

Anne Louise Zuelke was born on September 18th, 1932, in Stratford WI to Henry and Marie Zuelke (nee Klumb). She was the 5th of 6 children and is survived by her sister Lois (of Stratford) and brother Larry (wife Nancy of Menomonee Falls, WI). She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Marie Zuelke, sister Ruth (Alden Olson of Darlington, WI), brother Art (Delores, Kathy of Stratford), brother Robert (Arlene of Stratford) and dear friend Harleen (Tommy) Thompson of Bloomington, MN. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews who remember her fondly for her quick wit and loving care.

Anne attended school at Drake and then Stratford High School before attending UW Stevens Point where she received a degree in Medical Technology. She later used that degree in Minneapolis at the VA, where she had moved to in 1953. Here she met Harleen with whom she would share a special friendship lasting over 50 yrs. They both shared a love of animals, having many pets/dogs through the years. Including an orphaned raccoon, Maynard, that they saved, raised and released. He later came back to visit them as a grown raccoon. They also enjoyed travel, gardening and started a business together called the "Frame Up" where Anne would cut mats and Harleen would make frames for people's artwork. In retirement Anne volunteered at many organizations. She loved reading to little children at the local school as well as taking dogs from the Humane Society there to visit. She was active in St Stephens church and volunteered with VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People). Anne enjoyed using her push rotary mower to mow her lawn. Anne moved back to the Stratford area in 2013 and has lived at The Aster since then. She was very happy there, she always said they took good care of her and fed her too well.
