Ann R. Pongratz, 91 formerly of Rozellville died on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Monday, June 30, 2014 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Rozellville with Fr. John Alphonse officiating. St. Andrew's Guitar Group will provide the music. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitations will be from 4:30pm to 6:30pm Sunday at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield and again on Monday from 9:30am until time of services.
Ann was born on September 18, 1922 in Marshfield to Otto and Theresa (Simon) Weigel. Ann graduated from Marshfield High School. She was united in marriage to Michael J. Pongratz, Jr. on June 5, 1947 at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1997. Mike died on April 10, 2000.
Prior to and after her marriage, she was employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory and later retired from St. Joseph's Hospital housekeeping department.
Ann enjoyed gardening, polka music and traveling to the western states.
She is survived by her son Jerome "Jerry" (Carol) Pongratz of Auburndale, and one granddaughter Beth (Tim Moen) Pongratz of Marshfield. Ann is further survived by her sisters-in-law Margaret Weigel of Marshfield and Carol (Jerry) Spindler of Rozellville; brothers-in-law Frank Gruber of Paynesville, MN and Lavern Rehlinger of Mayville.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by grandson Brian Pongratz in 2006, three brothers Walter, James and Herbert Weigel and a sister Helen Gruber.
