Anita N. "Nitzie" Kraus, 86, Rozellville, died on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care, Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rozellville, with Rev. Sengole Vethamanickam officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held from 9:00 am on Saturday until service time at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Anita was born on August 12, 1929 in Marathon City to Joseph and Susan (Oppmann) Martin. She attended schools in Marathon and graduated from Marathon High School.
She was united in marriage to LeRoy F. Kraus on April 23, 1949 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rozellville. He died on April 7, 2014. She and her husband owned and operated L and N Halder Bridge Bar for 18 years.
Nitzie is survived by her children, David (Margaret) Kraus and Sheila (Russell) Spindler, all of Rozellville. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Christopher "Sammy" (Susie) Spindler, Michelle (Todd) Maurer, RaeAnn (Todd) Leonardt, Eric Kraus, Kevin (Beth) Spindler and Ryan (Courtney Czaja) Spindler, and 14 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister Alice "Sis" Brown, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty Martin, Kay Martin, Laverne "Mutzie" Fahey, Marion Jakubowski, Louis (Dorothy) Kraus, Jr., Agnes Rehlinger, Virginia Stauber, Jerry (Jean) Kraus, Tom (Margaret) Kraus, Marilyn "Bubby" (Richard) Wagner, Jim (Irene) Kraus and Ken (Mary) Kraus.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, 5 brothers, Harold "Cappy", Clarence, Andrew "Pepper", Joseph "Sep" and Leroy Martin and 3 sisters, Dorothy Kocik, Alvira "Vi" Markham and Lillian "Lil" Johnson.
A memorial will be designated in Anita's name at a later date.
