Just after sunrise on Friday June 26th, 2026 at Marshfield Medical Center - Weston, Andrea “Andi” Firkus, 58, took her last breath and went home to be with loved ones lost before. Andi was surrounded by family and friends during her final hours and was showered with love from all who stopped by.
Andi was born on April 6, 1968 in Stevens Point to Thomas and Rose (Schill) Porter. She was united in marriage on March 24, 2001 to Jeremy Firkus. They were married for over 18 wonderful years before Jeremy passed away in 2020. Andi graduated from beauty school and enjoyed her time working as a beautician.
Andi enjoyed spending her time camping with friends and family and going for motorcycle rides. She loved crafting, playing with all of her kitties and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Andi also enjoyed traveling to The Badlands in South Dakota and all of her trips to tropical areas. Special times for Andi were always having people over for bonfires and 4th of July fireworks shows. Andi was known for being sassy and sarcastic, and would always have a witty comment for everyone that she talked to. Andi was an animal lover and would take in numerous animals to love on.
Andi is survived by her children, Tiffany (Christopher Bowden) Gumney of Pittsville, Thomas (Rhea) Firkus and Trinity (Adam) Firkus of Amherst. Grandchildren Ethan and Emma. Boyfriend Andrew “Itch” Kizewski. Step-mothers Linda Porter and Joanne Arndt. Her sisters Michelle (Michael) Gumney and Dawn Porter. Special neices Deidre and Shannon Gumney. Many aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters-in-laws, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Andi was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Rose Porter, husband Jeremy, twin brothers Theodore and Thomas.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 25th from 2pm – 6pm at Smileys in Plover
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Marshfield Hospital ICU in Weston for taking such great care of Andi until the end. They were truly amazing.
