Obituary

Ambrose G. Jicinsky, 93, Unity, died peacefully on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at House of the Dove Hospice Home, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford. Rev. John Robert Alphonse will officiate and music will be provided by St. Joseph's Resurrection Choir. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery in the Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County and his 6 sons will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield and on Tuesday from 10:00 am until service time at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford. Ambrose was born on September 11, 1919 on Sugar Island, Sault Ste. Marie, MI. He moved to Stratford and attended Wescott School in the Town of Eau Pleine. He married the love of his life, Rita (Hein) on February 21, 1944 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Ambrose farmed many years while "working out" at various jobs. Later years he took up his passion, woodworking. His family and friends were the highlight of his life. He loved to have fun and brought humor to many neighborhood parties and family events. His story telling ability was amazing of his lifetime experiences. These will remain in the hearts of many. He loved Canada fishing trips with family and friends, bowling at Little Rose, working in the shed with the boys and neighbor kids where he taught them so much. He helped many a neighbor. He also enjoyed watching the birds. He did the crossword puzzle religiously, loved scrabble and challenged the grandkids at checkers. His most favorite times were Christmas when all the kids made it home. He loved and lived life to the fullest. He is survived by his wife, Rita and their 11 children, Bette Kramer of Stratford, Gene Jicinsky of Las Vegas, Gary (Judee) Jicinsky of Marshfield, Steve (Betty) Jicinsky of Baraboo, Rose Jicinsky of Akron, Ohio, Alan (Paulette) Jicinsky of Stratford, Jeffrey Jicinsky of Middleton, Phyllis Jicinsky of Blue Mound, Judy (Dave) Williams of Swisher, IA, Barbie (Rick) Mueller of Marshfield, and Wayne (Mary) Jicinsky of Colby. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, Kevin, Kelly, Kraig, Kory, and Sheryl Kramer, Sandra Stoiber, Stacy Remus, Krista Krause, Stephanie Kvelheim, Tyler Jicinsky, Amber Bobbe, Brianne and Lauren Jicinsky, Sophia Salzberg, Hannah and Hunter Williams, Heidi Freisinger, Marshall and Olivia Mueller, and Travis and Jenna Jicinsky. He is further survived by 16 great grandchildren, Dylan Kramer, Rachel, Sarah, and Hannah Stoiber, Mercedes, Kendra, Karagan, and Kayler Kramer, Connor and Cameron Remus, Carter, Colin, Cooper, Claudia, Carmen and Caislyn Krause. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Roy) and father Adolph and his grandson, Aaron.
