Alvin G. Krause, 75 of Vesper died on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Saturday, May 23, 2015 at St. James Catholic Church in Vesper with Fr. Robert Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Wisconsin Veteran Cemetery in King at a later date. Military rites will be conducted at the time of burial.
Visitations will be from 4-7pm Friday at the Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home in Pittsville and again on Saturday at the church from 10am until service time.
Alvin was born on March 15, 1940 in Antigo to Lawrence and Gladys (Chisel) Krause. He attended Antigo High School then enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1993 at a Chief Warrant Officer.
After his military service, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood working.
He was united in marriage to Rose DeLaPena and later divorced. He then married Carol G. Raab-Frings on June 15, 1979 at St. Rita's Catholic Church in West Allis.
Al is survived by his wife Carol, children Allen Krause of Bryant, Kimberly (Joseph) Dolezal of Marshfield, Sandra (Tom) Dyer of Beaver Dam, Jeffrey (Deanna) Frings of West Allis and Michael (Carol) Frings of Wausau; four grandchildren, Bradley, Brook and Ryan Dolezal and Zack Dyer. He is further survived by one sister Delores (Russell) Brownell of Rhinelander and three brothers, Bernard (Sally) Krause of York, WI, Lawrence (Alice) Krause of Monticello, MN and Gerald (Joanne) Krause of Wausau.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Geraldine Krause and a brother Richard Krause.
