Obituary

Alma T. Markowski, 93 of Marshfield, died on Monday, August 08, 2011 at the Golden Living Center Three Oaks in Marshfield. Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Rembs Funeral Home with Fr. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitations will be from 9am until time of service at the Rembs Funeral Home. Alma was born on August 17, 1917 in Lincoln Township, Wood County to Henry and Mary Heckel. She attended Ebbe School in Bakerville. She was united in marriage to Jacob P. Markowski on October 6, 1956 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Spencer. Jacob died on June 2, 1991. Alma was a homemaker and spent many years helping out her dad and brother. She was a caring and compassionate person, willing to help anyone. She had the prettiest geraniums and garden, with huge tomatoes. Alma was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church and its Parish Council of Catholic Women. She will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Patricia (Perry) Messerschmidt and Linda (Gene) Knetter both of Marshfield; two grandchildren Lisa Messerschmidt of Appleton and Jason Messerschmidt of Marshfield. She is further survived by one brother Alvin (Ruby) Heckel of Marshfield and a sister Betty Rankel of Colby and a sister-in-law Alice Heckel of Marshfield. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jacob, two brothers Eddie and Carl Heckel and two sisters Mildred Lundeen and Marian Breseman.
