Alice M. Schmidt, 87, Pittsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Marshfield Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time. The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes.Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Pittsville. Alice was born on December 31, 1933 in Pittsville, to Harold and Genevieve (Hodgson) Griswold. Alice had been employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory and then at Weyerhaeuser Company, both in Marshfield. She married Norman Schmidt in June of 2008 and he preceded her in death. She is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Art (Mary) Griswold of Pittsville, Fred Griswold of Beaver Dam, Ruth (Robert) Schmidt of Oconomowoc and Mary (John) Schulz of Pittsville. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Eleanor Newman, a brother Ralph Griswold and a sister-in-law Elaine Griswold. The family wishes to thank Alice's caregiver Tom Dorj.
