Obituary

Alfred "Al" Henry Fratter, 76, of Hawkins, Wisconsin, passed away on May 11, 2024, in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Born on October 20, 1947, in Rochester, New York, he was the beloved husband of Ivy Fratter and father of William, Scott, and Steven Fratter. Al was was also a grandfather to Jonah, Ezra, and Everett Fratter. Alfred, known to many as Al, was a native of New York state and was raised in Henrietta, New York, by his parents Monica and William Fratter. On May 26, 1973, he married Ivy Pearce, and they were married for 51 years. They later moved to Hawkins Wisconsin to be closer to family in May 2022.

Al served in the U.S. Army for six years, from 1969 to 1975, during the Vietnam War era, and was honorably discharged. Al knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and found great joy in reading the Bible and doing Bible studies, with his son Scott Fratter.

Throughout his life, Al cultivated meaningful friendships, cherishing the companionship of Todd Mitchell, Steve Fox, Ron Mason, and Jeff Hume. He found immense pleasure in his hobbies, which included traveling with his family, hunting, fishing, target shooting, and collecting firearms. He also had a passion for cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his wife, children, and especially his grandchildren Jonah, Ezra (sunshine) and Everett

Alfred is survived by his devoted wife, Ivy Fratter, and their children Bill, Scott, and Steven Fratter, along with daughter-in-laws Valerie (Salo) Fratter and Candice (Page) Fratter. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Jonah, Ezra, and Everett. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Monica Fratter, and his very special great aunt, Helene Beckwith, who played a significant role in his upbringing.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Al's best friend Todd Mitchell, and good friends Steve Fox, Ron Mason, and Jeff Hume for their unwavering support and loving friendship over the years. They also express special appreciation to daughter-in-law Valerie (Salo) Fratter for her constant selfless loving assistance during times of need.

The last years of Al's life was a living testament to the transforming power of the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to save us from our sins and transform us from our old selves and make us new creations in Him.

Al will be remembered for his faith and love for his family and friends. He will be missed and always loved.
