Alexander H. "Boots" Markiewicz, 90, a former Milladore resident, died on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Colonial Center in Colby. Committal services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Milladore with Rev. John Ofori Domah officiating. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Alex was born on July 2, 1923 in Michigan to Michael and Anna (Butkiewwicz) Markiewicz and attended Stepping Stone School in Milladore. He worked for the railroad and also as a carpenter. He is survived by his sisters, Helen Strigel of Marshfield and Jennie Haffenbredl of Auburndale. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Joseph in infancy, a brother Walter and 2 sisters, Alexandria Haffenbredl and Stella Vakoc.
