Albert R. Czlapinski, Jr., 66, Milladore, died on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, November 7, 2014 at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City with Rev. Joyce Heintz officiating. Burial will take place in Mound Cemetery, Pittsville. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home following the service on Friday by the American Legion Post 45 of Rudolph. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday and from 9:30 am on Friday until service time, all at Martens / Rembs funeral home.
Albert was born on February 19, 1948 in Wisconsin Rapids to Albert and Marie (Kehrberg) Czlapinski, Sr. and was a 1966 graduate of Lincoln High School, Wisconsin Rapids. He then served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era from 1966 until 1970. After his honorable discharge he attended Mid State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids from 1970 until 1973. He married Jane C. Vanderwalker on September 14, 1974 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Pittsville.
Al had farmed and enjoyed living in the country. He also was employed at Cequent Trailer Products in Mosinee until his retirement in 2009. He enjoyed writing, had published a book, and had several of his stories published in magazines. He had volunteered as a "Big Brother".
He is survived by his wife, Jane, a son, A.J. (Sonya) Czlapinski, and a daughter, Anna Haskins, all of Junction City and 5 grandchildren, Isaac, Gabrielle, David, Lily and Samantha. He is also survived by his mother, Marie Czlapinski of Milladore and a sister, Caroline Mancl and brothers, William (Diane) Czlapinski and Stanley (Ellen) Czlapinski. He is further survived by a good friend, Russell Roth and his children.
He was predeceased by his father.
