With faith in God and hope in the resurrection, we announce that Alan Tripp peacefully fell asleep in death at his home on August 31, 2026, at the age of 79. Alan was born in December 1946 to Harold and Edna Tripp. He grew up as a happy, active child in Worthington, Minnesota, and graduated from high school in 1964. He loved education and earned an Associate of Arts Degree in 1966, a Bachelor of Education in 1968, and a Master of Science in Teaching in 1977

Alan met Julie Roberts in January 1967. On August 21, 1971, they married and started their family. Their children are Timothy (Daryl) Tripp, Tiffany (Frank) Zach, David (Jessica) Tripp, and Lisa (Terril) Schneebeli. His grandchildren brought him joy: Sam (Aubrey) Tripp, Jack Tripp, Taylor Tripp, Kaleb Schneebeli, Zaylee Schneebeli, Owen Schneebeli, and Kellan Tripp. He is survived by his wife, Julie Tripp, and his sister Sue Tripp. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Edna Tripp.

Alan taught English at Marshfield Senior High School for 35 years. He also worked summer jobs at education camps in Maine, with local construction contractors, lumber yards, the Jelco Bus Company, and Fire & Safety Equipment. He coached track and cross country from 1968 to 1983. He retired from teaching in 2002.

Alan joyfully volunteered countless hours to support the spiritual activities of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He shepherded the local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 4 decades and was well known for visiting homes in the Marshfield area and sharing the Bible’s positive message for the future. Alan helped organize Circuit Assemblies and Regional Conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He served on Jehovah’s Witnesses Hospital Liaison Committee in Wisconsin, providing spiritual support and medical information to Jehovah’s Witnesses experiencing medical emergencies or serious medical procedures. For over a decade, he visited the Stanley Correctional Institution, providing spiritual shepherding and Bible education for dozens of inmates. Since the 1980s, he supported the construction of Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the area. His love for teaching showed as he trained others in these volunteer activities. Alan also enjoyed gardening, traveling, and fishing with his grandchildren. He had a passion for boats and sailing. His love for Jehovah God and the truths in the Bible moved him to show love to all whom he met. Even in his final weeks, the people around him and those who visited him made his eyes sparkle with life.

Alan often mentioned with gratitude the Marshfield Medical Center’s medical staff and administration. He deeply appreciated the professional, loving care of the Heartland Hospice team during his final months. Even in his final days, he made every effort to get to know and personally thank all who cared for him.

Alan Tripp’s memorial service will be on Saturday, Sept 12, 2026, at Hotel Marshfield, 2700 South Central Avenue, Marshfield, WI. Visitors are welcome to arrive at 2 pm. The memorial service will start at 3 pm.
