Obituary

Agnes M. Hennes, 94 of Marshfield, died on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 am Friday, September 30, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield with Rev. James Logan officiating. Gigi Plautz along with Sacred Heart Choir will provide the music for the service. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Visitations will be from 4-8pm Thursday at Rembs Funeral Home and again on Friday at the church from 9:30 am until time of service. There will be a Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service at 4pm Thursday at Rembs Funeral Home. Agnes was born on December 3, 1916 in Marshfield to John and Catherine (Weigel) Werner. She attended Sacred Heart School and McKinley High School in Marshfield. She was united in marriage of Edwin J. Hennes on September 25, 1940 at Sacred Heart. Edwin died on April 26, 1999. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September of 1990. She and her husband Edwin farmed in the Town of Marshfield for many years. While farming with her husband, Agnes worked in the sewing department of Weinbrenner Shoe Factory for over 30 years. Agnes like gardening, garage sales, reading, fishing with Edwin and loving and caring for her family. She was a life time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the former Altar Society. She is survived by two daughters and five sons, Julie (William) Zinsli, Jr of Menomonie, John (Joy) Hennes of DePere, Robert Hennes and Chuck(Diane) Hennes both of Marshfield, Mary (Keith) Bass of Granton, William (Linda) Hennes and Jim Hennes both of Marshfield; 23 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother-in-law Vincent Van de Loo of Marshfield. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edwin, three brothers Albert, Leo and Walter Werner, a sister Frances Van de Loo, and a grandson-in-law Dean Montgomery.
