Obituary

Adeline J. Lord, 87, Marshfield, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 31, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Sebastian Venni will officiate and music will be provided by Sacred Heart Church Funeral Choir. A private burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Fancher, Portage County, Wisconsin. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Susa, James Panzer, Steven Lenz, Calvin Lenz, Noah Panzer, Brandon Lenz and Hannah Panzer. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Monday from 9:00 am until service time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A combined Sacred Heart Parish and Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Adeline was born on September 20, 1925 at home in the Town of Stockton, Portage County. She was the youngest of 14 children born to John and Josephine (Spreda) Schulfer. She was married to Linus Lord on April 27, 1946 in Stevens Point and they had 2 daughters, Diane and Julie. They owned and operated the "Cameron Club" in the Town of Cameron from 1956 to 1967. They later divorced. After her divorce she worked at Weyerhaeuser Corporation, Marshfield, until her retirement. Adeline was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Christian Mother's Society. She enjoyed gardening and canning and loved baking for her family. She also loved playing a good game of smear and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Adeline's health began to fail after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease but she always had a smile on her face and had something smart to say. She will be dearly missed. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Diane (Jacob) Susa of Marshfield. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Lori (James) Panzer of Marshfield, and Steven (Donna) Lenz of Missouri and great grandchildren, Calvin Lenz, Noah Panzer, Brandon Lenz and Hannah Panzer. She was preceded in death by her parents, 9 sisters, 4 brothers, a daughter, Julie Bladen and her special friend, Fredrick Haeni. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Adeline's name to the Alzheimer's Association or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Adeline's family wishes to thank the Touch of Home owners, staff and caregivers for all their guidance, support, kindness, and care for Adeline since April of 2011. The family would also like to thank Father Venni for his kindness and care, and the staff on 3 North at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital and Greg and Tami Jackan of Rembs Funeral Home for their much needed guidance and professional care. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com God saw she was getting tired and a cure was not to be so he put His arms around her and whispered, "Come to Me." With tearful eyes we watched her fade away. Although we loved her dearly we could not make her stay.
