Roger D. Fritz, U.S. Coast Guard CPO/E7, Ret., age 72, Marshfield, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in the emergency room of Marshfield Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Roger was born on July 22, 1946 in Madison, WI, to Stanley and Beverly (Cockroft) Fritz. He was a graduate of Belleville High School. He married Janice M. Hobbs on September 7, 1974 in East St. Louis, IL. Roger was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving his country for 4 years. He then served in the United States Coast Guard for 18 years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling stories and was a fan of John Wayne. Roger loved his family and was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa. He is survived by his wife, Janice, a daughter, Patricia Tessmann of Marshfield and a son, Mark Fritz of Arpin and 2 grandchildren, Haley Milligan and Sean Tessmann and a great grandson, Dimitri Milligan. He is further survived by a brother, Ronald (Shelby) Fritz of Belleville, WI and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Bublitz.
