Obituary for Robert W. "Bud" Schrader

Robert W. “Bud” Schrader, 93, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center, Owen.

Graveside committal services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Hillside Cemetery, Ogema, with Rev. Daryn Bahn officiating and military rites will be conducted.

Robert was born on January 7, 1926 in Gagen, Wisconsin, to Frank and Hilda Mae (Schrader) Hettler. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II from July 20, 1944 until his honorable discharge on June 14, 1945 and he received the Purple Heart.

In his early years, Bud had farmed and later he was a long time over the road truck driver until his retirement.

He married Doris J. Carlson on November 6, 1954 in Ogema. She died on May 19, 2001.

Bud is survived by a son, Douglas Schrader and 2 daughters, Bonita (Duane Huth) Jensen and Joy (Bill) Holubets. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Josh (Heather) Schrader, April (Tim) Gotzler, Troy (Mary) Jensen, Amber (Seyha) Kry, Ernie (Kora Serrana) Jensen, Bailey (Marcus Stieber) Holubets and Brianna (Andrew Polnaszek) Holubets and 10 great grandchildren. He is further survived by a half-sister, Doris Klemetson and a sister-in-law, Gladys Hettler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Doris, a granddaughter, Jennalee Schrader, and brothers, Ray Schader, Lynn Hettler, Warren Stanley and Larry Hettler.

Memorials may be designated to the family or to Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield.
