Obituary

Sooky was born in South Korea and came to the United States in 1986 for emergency medical care and adoption. She was adopted by Mary and Joe Ohlert.

Sooky went through many medical challenges during her lifetime but was a joyful and loving daughter. She worked several jobs in the Stevens Point area after graduating from SPASH in 2003. She also worked at the Laura Jean Zach Center in Glidden where she flourished.

Sooky was a Green Bay Packers fan and loved country music. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Sooky is survived by her sister Kenyeh (Antoine) Floyd and her step siblings Ryan (Sheila) Hetzel, Jenni (Casey) Cox, and Devin (Hope) Hetzel, her parents, Mary K. and Bill Hetzel of Stratford, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Lindsay and Kendall, her dad, Joe, and all her grandparents.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Marshfield Clinic and Hospital, and Aspirus Wausau, for treating Sooky, and the Compassus nurses during her final days at home.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home, 211910 WI-97, Stratford, WI. Visitation will begin at 10am, with 11am service to follow. Deacon Ray Draeger will officiate. Interment will be in Holy Family Cemetery in Mattoon at a later date.
